Atticus with his surgery

Howdy! My name is Nikki, and I am raising funds for my dog Atticus. My sweet Atty is 9 years old and after a year and a half of vet visits, he has been diagnosed with primary hyperparathyroidism. On Friday, January 27, 2023, he had an ultrasound of his neck that revealed a mass on his parathyroid gland. This mass has been leading to his elevated calcium levels, urinary incontinence, and now bladder stones as well. He needs surgery to remove the affected parathyroid gland which will help us avoid any future surgeries needed for the bladder stones since we will be able to get his calcium levels lowered. They have estimated the cost of his surgery and hospitalization to be between $4,000 and $6,000, and his team of veterinarians has given him a great prognosis after the surgery. I am currently a veterinary student at Texas A&M - School of Veterinary Medicine, therefore the out-of-pocket cost of the surgery is a bit more than I can handle alone. I have had Atticus since he was 8 weeks old and we have been through thick and thin together. This is the best way I can think to repay him for everything he has helped me through - by giving him a better quality of life. My best boy has been through so much with his health in the last year, and I am thankful that he has a chance at a longer life with this surgery.
