Atticus's Medical Bills and Recovery

As many pet parents, we fear the possible day our beloved pet has a life-threatening illness. During hurricane Ian, I was faced with the worst situation unfolding right before my eyes. While for 4 days, we could not leave the house, I watched my best furry friend slowly become lethargic, unable to drink water, eat food, pee or poop. I originally thought it was stress from the storm, but later learned it was a colonic torsion causing him so much pain that he could not keep down food or water.
This life-threatening condition is very rare and is usually only seen in large dogs. My dog Atticus has been by my side for almost 6.5 years and has been the root to my tree of sanity and happiest. He is truly an angel on this earth! And anyone who has met him loves him so much because he is the bestest boy.
After the hurricane passed us, I found an emergency clinic nearby, but they had an 8-hour wait for animals that did not show life or death symptoms. His condition was internal, but all the same life-threatening and the clock was ticking. I took him immediately to another ER 30 minutes away and they started doing a bunch of tests. They said he looked healthy but dehydrated. So they sent him home after some fluids with antinausea pills. They said if he throws up even one more time, you have to bring him back because it is more serious than expected.
Well, within 8 hours he threw up yellow foam and I rushed him back.
Within the hour they brought me a quote for $6300 to do emergency surgery on him to correct the colon twist that is keeping a softball size of fetal matter and gas trapped in his colon. Supposedly very rare, but if left untreated can cause the tissue to die off and start decaying, causing sepsis. A very painful horrific death for a dog who has given me everything.
I maxed out every credit card and borrowed money from my grandmother to save his life. Not even 7 years old and I'm about to lose him. What hurts more is that they knew what his condition was on the first set of X-rays and they knew how dire his situation was. After I paid $1600 for his first visit to the ER, I felt like they didn't want to deal with a difficult surgery and that is why they sent him home and didn't tell me. Well, little do they know, I would do anything for this incredible dog who has been the most incredible family member to me.
If anyone can help with his medical bill costs, we would appreciate any amount so so much. Even $5 towards his now sensitive stomach food. Or if the best support offered is to share this post. I would thank you to the ends of the earth. I wish everyone could meet Atticus and see what a special dog he is, We used to visit nursing homes prior to covid because everyone loves how gentle and loving he is.
Thank you so much from my small furry family here to yours.
