Attorney Michelle Halloran

I am doing this with her permission.  As you all know, Michelle is an intensily private person but she needs our community - her community - to rally around her and give her the assistance she needs and the assistance that we are able to provide.

I saw Michelle at last month's docket and she was losing feeling in her legs.  As of last week she was in a walker barely able to move and today she's back in the hospital.  As many of us are, she is a sole practitioner with no medical insurance and as you know in that situation:  No work = no money + ridiculous medical bills because we make too much money for assistance and not enough to be able to afford medical care.

In a nutshell, this started with abdominal pain that took three doctors to diagnose as an internal infection along with anemia.  They started treating the anemia and the infection and thought the leg weakness was a result of the treatment.  The leg weakness and pain continued to get worse and she ended up in the hospital.  About five weeks ago her hands started to cramp.  Her fingers and hands are now curled up along with her thumb. She has intense pain from her hand up to her elbow and has less than five percent use of her hands. She has had five MRIs and CAT scans and still no diagnosis.  She's seen a general practitioner, internist, gastro and at least five ER doctors and neurologists with no diagnosis.  Pain and weakness continues to progress.  Waiting for a spinal tap.
