Deputy Michael Atwell served 4 years as a United States Marine prior to starting a 19 year career in law enforcement, the last 17 years of which he spent in the service of the Greenville County Sheriff's Office (SC).
On 4/25/18, Mike passed away after suffering a massive stroke related to complications from an illness that he battled the last several years of his life. Due to multiple hospitalizations and other issues from the illness, Mike incurred substantial medical bills that when combined with day to day expenses, lead to financial strain on his family. Mike leaves behind a wife, a 6 year old daughter and a 10 year old step daughter.
The purpose of this campaign is to raise funds for the family so that they can make it through this sad transition in life while not being further stressed buy financial pressures, to include losing their house.
