Miss Melly and Mrs Faulkner's Three-Peak Challenge
Donation protected
At Lee-on-the-Solent Junior School our values are: Resilience, Focus, Boundaries, Self-regulation, Independence and Respect. We ask the children to demonstrate these values in everything they do so they are able to fulfill our vision of 'Sailing into the Future'.
The adults in our school aim to act as role-models in upholding and demonstrating what these look like at school and in everyday life. On 8th-9th June 2024, the Headteacher and Deputy Headteacher, Mrs Faulkner and Miss Melly, will be climbing the three national peaks in 24-hours hoping to demonstrate the values and to raise some money towards enhancing the children's educational experiences. They are participating in this challenge alongside others who are raising money for Verity's Gift, a local charity that aims to help young people access first class physical and mental wellbeing allowing them to flourish in life of which Miss Melly is an ambassador. The funds will be split equally between the school and this charity.
They will be climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) within the 24 hour deadline set. Both Miss Melly and Mrs Faulkner have been training hard since December 2023 in order to take on this challenge and hope to inspire all of the children in the school that with hard work and determination, they can achieve tasks they did no think were possible.
We would really appreciate your support by donating to this fantastic cause, which will directly benefit the lives of local children both within our school and beyond!
