Fighting For A Dream

Danasabe Mohammed is Napa's only professional Mixed Martial Artist. To date undefeated, Don is a true renaissance man; he paints, plays saxophone and loves to dance. But mostly he is an artist in the cage.

Don has perservered when most would fall. Through a rough start with a mother on drugs and an unstable home, Don learned to both defend and protect at an early age. He now applies those skill daily in training.

"Learning the skills to fight, to perservere, and to be consistent helped me through the roughest times of my life. Now it's the sense of family and community I share with my trainers and supporters that pushes me forward. I train hard to make all of my community proud. I do it for everyone. My wins in the cage are both personal and communal. It truely does take a village."

As the 2014  XFC Open Try-out Winner was gunning toward the UFC, a series of poorly timed injuries stopped him in his tracks. 2015 offered up both knee and ruptured pectoral surgeries. The two operations and insueing rehab derailed but did not deter Don in his fight to be a champion. On February 6th Don competed at Dragon House 22 as the co-main event.  He won impressively in the second round, proving he is still in action and working toward his dream.
