A Proper Farewell for Romanus "Chris" Ozuruigbo
Donation protected
My name is Miguel, and through a friendship that spanned over 25 years, I was lucky enough to call Rome my brother. This past weekend his life, tragically and without reason, ended prematurely. While an investigation is underway, we must give him a proper and dignified farewell. He leaves behind his son, Rome Jr.
As you may know, Rome did not have an easy life. He didn't enjoy the support of an active father in his life, and his mother worked so much that he was mostly on his own. While many of us enjoyed big family celebrations during holidays, Chris would usually spend those days alone. And as such, the arrangements to give his body a final resting place have not been determined.
My plan is to give him a proper and dignified funeral service and ceremony.
Donations will go mainly toward a simple cremation service and a small ceremony/memorial.
If you aren't in the position to donate financially, please share this with others who may have known Rome/Chris and would like to contribute.
Information about the ceremony will be emailed to all donors (please share with others as everyone is invited to attend). The date for the ceremony is tentative but likely to be this Saturday near Wheeling, IL.
Thank you and please (if you are inclined to do so) say a prayer for Chris tonight, for his soul to find peace, as he died in a very traumatic way. May he know that he was loved and is being mourned by those who called him friend, brother, or family.
