Hi Aubree's friends and family!
I am Lindsey, her daddy's sister. After many recommendations to start a go fund me, and me finally getting permission from Justin and Heather I have started a go fund me account. Aubree has a much longer journey ahead of them then they had originally thought and the financial burdens of hospital bills, hospital food, and missing work have been weighing heavy on them, at an already emotional and heartbreaking time. Currently Aubree is still fully sedated, as she has been since Friday and there is no timeline as to when they will wake her up, from the point she is woken up she will remain in the hospital many days, with the absolute earliest outcome of her leaving being next weekend. She is currently still in ICU with 24/7 care in her room at all times. More importantly then financial help would be prayers, and we have appreciated and been overwhelmed with all the love, support and prayers everyone has showed the family.  We are also blessed to have the most amazing childrens hospital right in our city, and everyone at Helen Devos has shown so much love to Aubree, even when they have said she is "strong like bull" which anyone who know's Aubree, knows that to be true.  If there is any money left after paying bill's it will be donated to Helen Devos Childrens Hospital.

Earlier today I did have a few people venmo me with I would love to thank and that money is going directly into Justin & Heather's LMCU account. Thank you Meg Matthews, Shannon Tuffs's, Amy Babins, Mariana Garza, Geary & Cyndi Morrill, Karen Adams and Trisha Thompson. From here on out we will be going this route for donations as it's easiest for all friends and family to share.

I will be updating on here as well as the updates come in, for now I'm going to update the facebook posts that have been made thus far, from the beginning. Thank you again!

Well it’s been a long day. Aubree has large pneumonia in her right lung. After a week of sickness and sinus infection, her oxygen became very low because her right lung was nearly full of fluid. They are putting in a chest tube to drain some of the fluid and have her on antibiotics to help get her better. Praying for a speedy recovery and successful removal of the infection.

I'm on Aubree duty for a bit, and am giving the newest update. Unfortunately the chest tube didn't go all the way in, and when they tried putting it in further it coiled up instead of going in further, unfortunately they had to take it out, and didn't want to open her in another area so they won't be able to drain anymore tonight. They will check throughout the night and see if the fluid is going down, however last time they looked it was still mostly white and full. If it doesn't go down they will try a new chest tube to drain in the morning. She was struggling breathing so they did intibate her for now. She is asleep and peaceful and will be until they decide on if they will do another chest tube procedure in the morning. She is in the best place she could possibly be, and I am creepily staring at her, as well as the nurse that's in her room at all times as she is in ICU. Momma will be with her all night, Grandma and Grandpa Zoet were here, and I can tell you this girl won't be alone one minute, she is very loved  :)Please keep those prayers going that they don't need to reopen her tomorrow.

I’ve been waiting to update until I heard back from the doctor so here is the most recent news on Aubree:
After only "sleeping" about an hour they woke me up (2:50Am) to tell me they are doing another procedure. I was kicked out of the room because they are treating it like an operating room just like her procedure earlier (now yesterday). They are putting in a central iv near her collarbone. This will allow them to be able to give blood if needed, fluids etc. it is bigger than the one she currently has. They could place this in her leg but he doesn't want to do that because of risk of infection (if she pees or poos..). They will also be re attempting the drain. I can't remember which one of these it is but both are going on the right side. One of them has a potential to collapse her lung. He said if he were to put it in the left side and it collapsed then we've created two bad lungs. The X-ray they took at midnight showed that fluid is filling back up in her right lung. Which is not good so they need this procedure to work. They were going to do a catheter because she hasn't peed since she got here at 3pm but it was postponed. More than likely she will be getting one though. After 2 hours the doctor found me (5:10Am) to tell me everything is perfect. All tubes went in and didn't cause an issue. The chest tube is pumping out fluid so big thumbs up to that. They did also put a heart monitor on her wrist (for some reason I think he said in but I'll confirm) because is still dipping low blood pressure wise.

Justin and I would personally like to thank each and every one of you who have extended prayers, thoughts, hugs and those who have offered help if needed. We may not be able to respond to everyone but please know we have read your messages and appreciate the support! ❤️

As of right now Aubree is currently trying to fight a fever. They have been giving her doses of Tylenol but that hasn’t been helping so they had to inject Motrin in her port/IV line to help her fight it. They did do an Ultrasound of her lungs but we have not gotten an update on the results/plan of action. They are still trying to figure out the best combination of sedatives because she’s a pro at playing “opossum”  You think she’s out/sleeping and then you try to do anything that may be slightly uncomfortable and she comes at you kicking/swinging lol

Again thank you all! We love you and appreciate you!

Ok so a few updates

Last night she was pretty stable. They did give her a bath and cute braids ❤️They also did this machine where it vibrates her lungs to try and force more "gunk" out. They did say they got quite a bit at that time so  They also ordered these booties for her feet. Her feet are toes pointed because her muscles are so relaxed so the boots are going to help straighten her feet (toes pointed up)

They just finished rounds and we got some ok news and some not ok news.

They are going to be giving her a drip to help her pee. She's very puffy from all of the meds and has gained 4-5 kilos since she got here. They will also be giving her a suppository to help her poo because she hasn't done that since she's been here either. They want to give her food via feeding tube but right now it will cause more harm than good so we are waiting on that.

We did have to sedate her some more because she started going King Kong after Stacy brushed her teeth.

Her chest tube has helped with the fluid but here's the not so good part.

They did show me the X-ray from this morning. Her left lung now has fluid but not enough where they need a chest tube. The X-ray from midnight the night before her left lung was very obviously clear and now it's not. Her right lung no longer shows a lot of fluid but it is still collapsed. They are bringing in another specialist who is going to putting a tiny camera and vacuum into her right lung to hopefully find and pull out the gunk that is causing the collapse.

Will continue to keep you all posted.

March 24 8:15pm Go Fund Me created. I will continue to post updates as they come! Thank you everyone!
