Aubree Rosa & Rosa Family

Donation protected
Those of you who have had the privilege of meeting Aubree and the rest of the Rosa Family know how much of a light she is and they all are in this difficult world. Selfless, loving, smart, kind, genuine, & beautiful don’t even begin to describe our sweet Aub. A lifelong high level athlete and scholarship gymnast at The University of Kentucky, she’s always been our fiery “floor queen.”

Towards the end of her collegiate career, a guy had come into Aubree’s life in a very big way. They’d known each other for years and Colton pursued her with everything he had. He gave her his time, patience, LOVE and his persistence finally paid off. Colton made constant trips to be with her as much as the Air Force would allow and with the help of a few of her cousins he’d even introduced her to a new passion of hers: Crossfit, which of course she excelled at right away.

On The evening of Monday July 29, Aubree and her boyfriend Colton Drye were involved in an extremely serious car accident in Walcott, Iowa while on their way road tripping from LA to the Crossfit Games in Madison, Wisconsin. An hour away from their destination, they suffered through this terrible tragedy which resulted in Colton’s passing. Aubree was taken by ambulance to a local hospital and then life lighted to The University of Iowa Neuro-Intensive Care Unit listed in critical condition.

She suffered serious lacerations to her head & face, brain bleeding, fractures in her upper spinal cord, a broken rib, 2 bruised lungs one of which was punctured, & and has required a breathing tube. She is scheduled to stay in the hospital for approximately 3 weeks and doctors will have constant monitoring of her physical and mental progress. As of this writing on 8/1 she has opened her eyes a handful of times and was able to see her mom and brother there with her as well as move her extremities slowly.

As you can imagine, she’s extremely scared and confused right now with her situation and surroundings. Even more of an unknown than Aub’s recovery is the financial burden the Rosa Family incurs as a result of all of this. This devastating event is unimaginable for most of us and is something we will probably never have to endure. Because of this, I’m asking for all of you who’ve met or know Aubree and the Rosa Family to contribute in any way possible. We believe in the power of God and prayer and we have faith that he will keep his hand over Aubree and this family. Anything contributed will be an amazing blessing for this family during an unthinkable season of life.

I truly wish I could show all of you the powerful photos of the extent and severity of the accident and injuries but out of respect for both families I simply cannot. We know our girl is so strong and will persevere beyond belief.

“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer”- Romans 12:12
