Aubrey Bain Polar Plunge 2024 for Special Olympics
Tax deductible
My name is Aubrey, and I am proud to play Unified Sports and be a Special Olympics athlete. I am 18 years old, and I live with my family in Colorado. I have autism with an intellectual disability, but I don’t let that define who I am.
I am in my final year of high school, and I have participated in Unified Sports every year. I play the snare drum in our Unified Percussion program. We have performed at our school’s football games, at our district’s band night, and at locations throughout our community. I am part of our bowling team, I play basketball, and I have also ran track. Basketball is my favorite sport—I love dribbling down the court, making baskets, and supporting my team. Like any other high school athlete, I compete against students from the other schools in our district. I also get to play basketball in a Special Olympics tournament every year.
Special Olympics has had a pivotal impact on my life. It has provided a community for me and other people with disabilities. It has introduced me to new friends. And it has allowed me to participate in extracurricular activities just like every other high school student.
This year I have a chance to support Special Olympics by participating in a Polar Plunge event in Windsor, CO on April 13, 2024. I don’t like being cold, but I am willing to take the plunge to support Special Olympics. My fundraising goal is $1,000. I hope you will support me by donating to help me reach my goal.
Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me!
