Help us Heal.
My Name is Desley Ketchup and in 2023 our community lost one of its Warriors and I lost my son, Aubrey Donahue who was a twin to Algen, brother to Claudette, Breeanna, Nicholas, Doreen and Reynold. I would like to raise some funds for his tombstone and a venue to share our story but most importantly bring people of this town together and help those who have been through similar circumstances to heal. As a proud Thaypan Possum, Bwgcolman (Palm Island) woman I will do whatever is necessary to heal my family and the people.
This isn’t the first time I have had to bury a son. It’s a very sad day for me and my family but also for a lot of other people in our town and very impacting on our Indigenous community. We are looking to hold an event to celebrate the strength of our community and people. We as a family have been through our fair share of struggles with the loss of family members. We have had to endure a great deal of Trauma and heartache; this is the first time the family are gathering.
My Son was taken from us on 23/03/23 in a very tragic manner. You may have heard or read about it and when such things happen it can tear a family apart. I’m looking to raise some funds to help in the healing journey for me, my family and community. Our community struggles with significant tragedy and I would like to be able to share our struggles to help us all heal and lift each other spiritually.
