We would like to send out a heartfelt thank you to our family, friends and community. The love and support that has been poured out to our family will never be forgotten. Though Aubrey lost her battle against cancer WE WILL FOREVER REMAIN #AUBREYSTRONG. We ask that you continue to pray as this family has a long journey of healing ahead of them. We will leave this page up until the end of December if anyone wants to make a contribution to the family. Again we cannot express our deepest gratitude to ALL of you! God Bless.
Aubrey Lee Gutshall-McCray is the daughter of Justin and Brecken McCray and sister to five year old Brendan . She is a two year old fiery red head that has just been diagnosed with stage 4 neuroblastoma cancer.
Aubrey is a very spirited little girl who loves riding in her big brother's toy truck, coloring with crayons and chalk, and playing with her stuffed animals. She has a special love for her dogs, Case and Holly, and her Maw maw's dogs, Sadie and Lady. Aubrey loves to be outside as much as possible, no matter the weather. She is a very strong-willed child that we know will overcome all of the obstacles that she faces.
About a week ago, Aubrey began having stomach and lower back pains. After being taken to her pediatrician, they discovered that she was anemic and her blood platelet count was 48,000; well below the normal count of 150,000. She was taken to UVA and admitted for further testing. On Wednesday, Aubrey was taken for a CT scan and underwent bone-marrow testing. When the results came back, the family was devastated. Their worst nightmare had come true; Aubrey Lee had cancer.
Finances for the McCray family may become unbearable, as it would for anyone going through this. Although we can't imagine the pain this family is feeling, we can all be there to support them along their journey. Any donations given will go to medical treatments for Aubrey and extra expenses such as all hospital bills, gas and food.
Aubrey and her family are eternally grateful for our continued generosity and desire to help. The family asks for your continued thoughts and prayers throughout this difficult time. Family and friends, let's do what we can to show this family how much we care and support them.
We love you Justin, Brecken, Brendan and Aubrey!!!
