Aubrey's Student Loan Smash Fest
Donation protected
My sister Aubrey is just about the most generous person I know! She's fantastically creative, persistent and smart. Her dreams become reality and she leaves a trail of warm memories wherever she goes.
Her nonprofit, Stony Lake Therapeutic Riding Center, is heading into a more stable future with more donors and streams of revenue. Just since opening full-time year-round in July 2020, they have grown 833%, from 18 to 150 clients. We want to celebrate her hard work getting to this point and take care of some loans and taxes so she can stay with the nonprofit.
For a long time she's been earning less than she's worth, because she values providing therapy more than she values her financial success. At her nonprofit, instead of paying market-value $145/hour, clients pay $30/hour due to grants, donors, and fundraisers. We don't want to change that. So we need to change something else to make it sustainable for her finances too.
Even though her role as Executive Director is full time, she's been working side jobs to try to make up some of the difference. It's not sustainable to work 60 hours a week, and the math isn't in her favor.
When these loans are paid off, her personal finances will be strong and sustainable so she can continue providing therapy and expanding the nonprofit. There are big, exciting plans for Stony Lake Therapeutic Riding Center and I'm so excited about the next few years!
