Rescue children in Africa. Audacity Volunteers Uganda Save Children (AVUSC), also known as Mother Care Foundation (MCF). is a registered rescue organization in Uganda working to improve the lives and providing free education to orphans, and taking care of the infected and affected by the country’s HIV/AIDS, rescue children in poverty, orphans, abused, tortured, war affected children of south Sudan and Rwanda, mistreated, neglected , abandoned, and children whose parents are in prison, and other children from extremely poor families in Uganda.
Director Kigundu Stuart writes, “We believe each and every child deserves access to better education, health, shelter, food and other opportunities. We are operating a kindergarten, an elementary school and a high school, with a total enrollment of 750 supported children. We help to provide housing in the communities for the orphans enrolled in the schools, and also provide food to many other vulnerable children and families affected by the COVID-19 crisis in Uganda. To help support the activities and programs, we produce food (farming) and rear livestock, providing food for the children as well as income. The crops include bananas, cassava, potatoes, other vegetables and water melons. The animals include goats, sheep and chickens. The farming is seasonal, and dependent on weather conditions, with time between harvests.
“To sustain the educational and support programs we depend upon financial support from our communities, and from well-wishers in other countries. Besides caring for the food, educational and medical needs of the children, we encourage and nurture the talents of the children in art, music, dance and drama. Our children’s choirs conduct musical shows and concerts aimed at raising funds to sustain this work. Esteemed members or volunteers of church centers and local communities also contribute to help meet the needs of the children and the expenses of the projects. The quality of the care and education is dependent on many helping hands joining us in this life-giving work. We humbly ask you to join us in raising the funds to meet the monthly needs of the children and the projects: (1) Feeding children, (2) Workers’ Salaries, (3) Meet day-to-day needs. Let us do this work together.”
