Audra & Jess's COVID Journey

LONG TERM COVID EFFECTS ARE REAL!!!
In December 2020, our friend and co-worker, Audra, along with her spouse Jesse and their son Gavin, like so many others, were struck with Covid 19. Jesse was one of the unlucky that developed a severe case of the disease. On Christmas Eve, Jesse was admitted to the University of Utah Hospital. By New Years’ Eve, he was in the ICU where they had to take life-saving measures by putting him in a coma and on a ventilator. Audra and Gavin were told that Jesse’s chances of survival were close to zero. Over four months later (128 days), the amazing staff at the hospital saved Jesse’s life and he was discharged home. Since that time, he has been homebound and on 24-hour oxygen.
In April, and again May, of this year, Jesse contracted a new respiratory virus and had to be admitted to the hospital, again, where they found he has an incurable bacterial pneumonia. 53 more days in the hospital and he is home again, but this time on Hospice.
Audra and Gavin have been and will continue to be alone to care for Jesse as all of his family is out of state. Audra has been the sole provider for the family since this all began over two years ago. We are asking for help so that Audra and Gavin will be able to spend what remaining time Jesse has left, together, as a family. Without the burden of Audra trying to figure out how to be a full-time employee while being a 24-hour care giver, etc.
If you would like to contribute and help, any little donation will help ease the burden during this very difficult time and would be very much appreciated!
