Audrey Gallant

Audrey Gallant was a source of joy, love, and light. She formed the most authentic relationships and cared deeply for her friends, family and community. For over 20 years, Audrey greeted generations of families at TIOH on Sunday mornings with arms open wide, a big smile on her face, proclaiming, “good morning, dahlink!” On Wednesdays, she handed children, fresh from a day of school, a slice of pizza and a bag of chips. She had a special heart for TIOHers of all ages, who needed a little extra time to regroup in the warm salt crystal glow of her office.

Audrey created loving nicknames to express her good humor and care. She never missed a Briskin performance, a special Shabbat service, or a moment of connection with the TIOH community. She loved families, children, Jewish life, and learning. She dedicated so many of her days to helping to build and sustain this community.

After a a 20 month battle with cancer, Audrey died peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, September 19. Friday, September 22 would have been her birthday.

Audrey will forever be remembered on the Franklin Canyon trails she hiked daily, in the memories of extended community and family, and in the halls and hearts of TIOH.

Our community sends love to her devoted partner, Rodney, and her family, including her sister, Pelma, who lives in California and who has been by her side through her illness, as well as her mom, siblings, and extended family in Massachusetts.
