Audrey Tyrrell Diagnosed with Usher Syndrome

Hi there,

My name is Lewis Dare and I am 14 years old I have in the past raised money for children in need within my home town, these children have been diagnosed with particular illnesses from birth or later in life. I have completed 3 triathlons over the years for various charities including Leukemia Research, Brompton Fountain and Kidney Research.

On Saturday 29th July 2023 I will be doing my own triathlon for Usher Syndrome to raise money for Audrey Tyrrell. I will be swimming 50 lengths of the local pool followed by 10K cycle ride along the prom, finishing with 5K run along the prom.

Audrey is 11 years old and was born deaf and unfortunately after months of tests she has been diagnosed with Usher Syndrome, this is a rare genetic condition that affects hearing, sight and balance. Audrey will not only be deaf but visually impaired, the family are now faced with a new path for Audrey and are not sure what the future may hold for her.

As Audrey is a similar age to me and I couldn't imagine what she is going through, I would like to raise as much money as I can to make sure that Audrey can raise awareness for Usher Syndrome and also raise enough money for Audrey and her family to make some special memories for her, I would be grateful if you can help me with this?
