Audrey's campaign for WWF - UK
Hello,
Thank you for reading this... my name is Audrey I’m 7 years old and I am attempting to ride 100 miles (160km) over 2 days from my home in Somerset to my grandparents in Hereford - to save the planet!!!
A few months ago I bought Greta Thunberg’s book in Waterstones with some birthday money. I was inspired by her work to raise awareness of the need to immediately address our environmental problems, and I wanted to make a difference too. I asked my dad what can I do to ‘get headlines’ and as a family who enjoy cycling he said ‘why don’t you do a long bike ride’ and so ... the idea was born.
Two months ago the most I had ridden was 15 miles but in just 2 months time I will be riding 100 miles over 2 days. I’ve been in training, sometimes on the road at 7amand I managed to do 32 miles one day last month, although I was very tired when I got home. So I’m confident I can do it!
The WWF are doing great work to preserve this beautiful planet and I am especially keen to support the work they are doing to keep plastic waste out of our beautiful and precious oceans.
Please help me to get headlines, raise awareness, make a difference, and raise funds to support this important cause.
Every donation will help, so even if you can only spare a £1 or a $1. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
