Audrey's Vandalism Deductible
Donation protected
After mid-terms all week long, Saturday, November 13, Audrey came home from school and then work, cooked herself dinner and then crashed, in bed, because she had a 5:00 a.m. Sunday workday at Starbucks in Safeway. Campus police called her at 4:30 a.m. to meet her at her car. She had been vandalized. Vandalized to the tune of $2,700 dollars. The car Audrey is driving is her baby. A leased VW Jetta that she has a huge investment in. Her insurance comprehensive deductible is $2,500. I, her mother, insuring twin teenage drivers and trying to get the premium within reason every month didn't think much of a $2,500 deductible at the time. Big Mistake. Someone kicked her car door and ripped off her side view mirror. Kicked it so hard the rear view mirror popped off the inside windshield. Three others were also victimized that night but Audrey's had the worse damage. No security cameras, no witnesses, no recourse. Audrey is taking 14 units her Sophomore year at Sonoma State and works 27-30 hours per week to make her car payment and pay me for her insurance. She is not understanding why the insurance isn't covering the repairs if I have "full coverage". We are in need of our friends and family's help. If you could see it in your heart to donate the slightest amount, maybe we can get her car fixed quickly. It's drive-able but it's her baby. This support would mean so much to us as her dad is on unemployment having been laid off from his past employment. I am working, head of the household but trying to keep the roof over our head. I'm not seeing this as a priority for a very long time. We would be most grateful for your kindness and generosity under these circumstances.
