Celebrate the Life of Crystal White

My name is Angelina Cruz, and I am Crystal White's sister. She was tragically murdered in Lawrence, Kansas, on her 51st birthday - February 22nd, 2024.

The purpose of this GoFundMe is to cover cremation costs and the Celebration of Life Memorial Service on March 3rd. Any surplus funds will support community initiatives in Crystal's memory.

Despite experiencing homelessness and battling the effects of trauma and mental illness, Crystal was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, mother, and friend. Her life mattered, and her loss has left a profound void in our hearts. We desire that this loss ultimately raises awareness about the urgent need for community action.

I cherished my sister deeply. Though we didn't always see eye to eye, our love for each other never faltered. Our bond was unbreakable. Crystal was incredibly loving and generous. She would selflessly give everything she had to ensure someone else's happiness. Her love knew no bounds. What a remarkable person she was at the core. I will forever love her and deeply miss her.

As her family, we are coming together to celebrate her life and ensure she receives the farewell she deserves on Sunday, March 3, 2024, from 4:00 – 9:00 p.m. at Mama’s Tamale Shop, 602 W. 9th St, Lawrence, KS 66044. Friends in the community are invited to join us in honoring her memory. Crystal leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience despite the hardships she faced throughout her life. She was more than just a statistic.
