Auggie Needs Leg and Hip Surgery

While in Boston for work on April 8, we received a call from a stranger in California who had found our dog alone inside a CVS with what we thought at the time was just a broken leg.

 

Our one year old dog, Auggie, had gotten out of the pet sitter’s apartment through an open/unlocked door, made a 2 mile journey in the direction of our home and presumably was struck by a vehicle on the way.

 

We were fortunate enough to have a family member pick up Auggie and take him to an emergency room while we were on our way back across the country uncertain whether or not we would lose our baby.

 

Auggie is suffering from a broken front leg, dislocated hip, a punctured lung and internal bruising. Luckily after removing air from his chest cavity his breathing is now stable, however, he will need surgery to repair his leg and hip.

So far the Emergency vet overnight stays and medical treatment have totaled to over $5K, and the surgery is being estimated at a minimum of $10K.

 

We are looking for help to recover the expenses while we take legal action. Anything over what we actually end up paying will be donated back towards other animals in need on GoFundMe.
