Auggie's Jedi Battle Against Cancer

August Sennert is a very special boy. As his dad says, "he has a lot of star dust". A brilliant little kid who charms, outsmarts, giggles, and brings joy and silliness to all who know him. In his nearly 8 years, Auggie's father, Stefan, has kept journals of his "Augisms". Journals, yes, plural. Stefan has run through 3 full journals of the hilarious, profound, generous, weird, and wonderful things Auggie says every day.
Nearly two weeks ago, Auggie was playing with his friends, roller skating at Skate City. 6 hours later, he was rushed to the Children's Hospital in Colorado Springs, and hours after that, rushed by ambulance to Children's Hospital CU Anchutz in Aurora. Doctors worked quickly to save his life as swelling in his neck and chest was so severe he couldn't breathe.
12 hours after arriving at the ER he was in the ICU. Leukemia, they said. Aggressive and fast-moving. In less than a day this bright and healthy boy was faced with the news that he had a condition that would require intense, daily, difficult treatments for years. Life turns in minutes when it's already been so hard.
Stefan became a full-time solo-providing father when Auggie was 3. For the past 5 years, they've overcome difficulties that would bring most people to their knees. But they're strong and hearty. We know they can make it through this and be stronger than ever at the end, but not without support. As a single dad caring for a child with leukemia, it's a full time job. Any amount or any way you can support this small but mighty father and son, you'll be a part of saving two of the greatest stars in this universe.
Auggie's future is bright. He needs to keep his Jedi force alive to beat this ugly disease. And his force is strong.
