My name is Ahmed Saeed, I am 40 years old, and I am the head of a family consisting of five members: my wife and our four children, Ghazal (10 years old), Mohammed (7 years old), Sarah (5 years old), and Aya (2 years old). I hold a nursing diploma with three years of study and a bachelor's degree in psychological counseling. I work as an employee in a pharmaceutical company, with a daily working hours of 11 hours. I receive a salary of approximately $350 per month, part of which goes towards the remaining installments of my apartment in a residential tower in the northern Gaza Strip.
Unfortunately, my salary has been suspended since the beginning of the aggression on Gaza. With a heavy heart, I seek your assistance, as I have no other option to feed my family amid the famine affecting the northern Gaza Strip. Water and electricity have been cut off since the start of the aggression, and no relief convoys have been allowed to reach the besieged northern area. The little remaining food is being sold at exorbitant prices, beyond any logic, and it may also be contaminated or adulterated.
We are now unable to find daily sustenance, and we continue to endure nights of hunger. Some nights, we manage to have contaminated food and water, which further jeopardizes our health. It's difficult for me to express that my family and I had to sell the biscuits that my wife prepared just to buy some of our basic necessities.
Since the beginning of the aggression, the northern Gaza Strip has been subjected to all forms of possible injustice. We have been indiscriminately shelled from the air, sea, and land, forcing us to evacuate several times in an attempt to survive. However, there is no safe place to protect the lives of my children. We spent days without life essentials and were separated from our loved ones in our quest to find a safe place. We lost many dear ones, including my beloved mother, who passed away due to a lack of medicine and food.
Our children have endured fear, hunger, thirst, fatigue, and oppression at a young age that is unimaginable. I doubt they will recover psychologically from what they have experienced. The residential tower where I live, including my apartment, has been significantly damaged and is no longer suitable for living, affecting not only our apartment but the entire neighborhood.
