Peyton’s journey back to walking

Hi my name is Courtney 3 weeks ago my perfectly healthy 10 year old Peyton Riley started to act unlike her normal self and started off having seizures and then eventually as she would come down to baseline we

noticed that she could not WALK or even speak as she once did .

we visited two separate children’s hospitals and after our second visit and doing a CT scan , MRI and EEG it was said that she had epilepsy. However that did not completely explain why she could not walk or talk ! After speaking with the neurologist it was said to our family that she also has something called Functional neurological disorder (FND). It’s no medicine or cure for this .. therapies such as , physical , occupational, and speech can be extremely beneficial to her healing and getting back to as much as normal life as possible ! Right now we are housed at inpatient rehabilitation facility here at the children’s hospital but as of right we have no been provided with a date to go home / recovery timeline !

my family and I are asking for help from our friends and family as much as possible while she is recovering I am currently on a FMLA from work but it is UNPAID due to me not being the person who is sick !

being here for Peyton is what is needed and what help with her recovery process

we are trying to balance being here and bills and life is currently stacking up against us
