Help Kevin Fight Pancreatic Cancer

“Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will

strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous

right hand.” -Isaiah 41:10

On Kevin’s birthday he met with his oncologist and received the news we were dreading hearing. Kevin has been diagnosed with Stage 4 incurable pancreatic cancer that has spread to his liver. 

This is a fast-growing cancer that Kevin likely has had for only 6-7 months. By the time one feels sick, it is already too late to remove the pancreas because it has spread to other organs. Surgery at this stage is not an option. 

However, with chemotherapy the progression can be slowed, and the tumor can shrink, but the cancer will never completely go away or be cured. Kevin has two choices, do nothing and let the disease take its course, leaving him with approximately 6 months to live. Or do chemotherapy in hopes of allowing Kevin to be with us for 2-4 more years. 

The chemotherapy regimen is an aggressive treatment requiring Kevin to get infusions every other week for as long as he chooses, or until it no longer shrinks the tumor and slows the progression of the cancer. The hope is with chemo treatments, Kevin will be able to eat, gain weight and be able to enjoy the time he has left.

Kevin plans to have an access port placed under the skin in his upper chest for blood

draws and chemotherapy treatments. Chemo is projected to start in the next 2 weeks.

Kevin would never ask for help in this way, so I’m starting this GoFundMe campaign to raise money for our dear friend. The Bible verse above spoke to me. God WILL help Kevin. But He will use US as His hands and feet. By contributing to Kevin’s medical fund, you will make a tangible difference in his life. Your generous donations will help cover medical bills, costly medications, hospital stays, and other expenses that typically arise when battling pancreatic cancer. Your financial support will help alleviate some of the burdens and allow Kevin to focus on spending his remaining time with his wife, family and friends.
