Our Aunt Amy (Zygello-Schroeder) Needs Help

As some of you may know, my Aunt Amy was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. What started out as what we thought would be just kidney stones, turned into a life-changing diagnosis.

She has taken this hand that has been dealt to her and is fighting hard, with an amazingly positive attitude. She started her chemotherapy treatments already and is trying to kick cancer’s ass!

My aunt is so strong, one of the strongest people I know, and she is the rock of our family. She would do anything for anyone and has. She never wants to accept help with anything and is very stubborn if anyone does try. With this new journey she is on, it’s time for her to accept the help that so many people are offering. She will have thousands of dollars in medical bills, with what is not covered by insurance. She is exhausting all of her PTO with taking off days for chemotherapy, medical procedures, various testing and days where she’s feeling the ill effects.

Friends, family and coworkers have helped with gift cards, food, cards, well wishes and prayers. She greatly appreciates everything that everyone has already done. At this time, I’m asking if you can contribute any amount, big or small, to help ease some of the financial burden and unpaid time off of work. Contributions will help pay her medical bills and regular monthly payments, such as mortgage, utilities and insurance. We’re hoping to take away some of the stress, so she can focus all of her energy in fighting this life-threatening disease and enjoying her only child, Angela’s, senior year of college, at IUP.
