Help Aunt Gerri recover from recent flooding

Hi, my Aunt Gerri was recently dealt a crippling blow-heavy rain this past Sunday (September 4, 2022) caused the ineffective storm drains in the area to back up and caused immense damage to her basement.

With over 3 feet of water in the basement, everything that was kept down there is destroyed. The washer and dryer are ruined. The hot water tank and furnace are destroyed as well. The pinball machine (that we all loved playing on during holiday parties over the years) is waterlogged and wrecked. The furniture is destroyed, including the bar and stools where Aunt Gerri shared shots of Jäegermeister. And these are just some of the visible damages the water has caused.

Because this event is classified as a "flood," insurance provides minimal monetary coverage. This amount will barely cover replacing the appliances. Replacing the HVAC system, removing the ruined items, and repairing the damage to the structure will fall to Aunt Gerri.

At 85 years old, Aunt Gerri should not have to worry about bringing her home back to livable on her own.
