Auntie Sewing Squad Documentary Project
Donation protected
I've been an active member of the Auntie Sewing Squad since its start in March 2020. I'm raising production funds for the Auntie Sewing Squad (www.auntiesewingquad) documentary now in production. Your donation will support this collaborative, crowdsourced film about an amazing collective of more than 800 volunteers who responded to the US government's failed response to the COVID-19 pandemic by sewing and donating more that 350,000 masks to vulnerable communities across the US. You can find out more about the Auntie Sewing Squad on our website or facebook page!
Thanks to all who donated last year! Those funds were used to interview Prof. Grace J. Yoo and her students who sent more than 1500 masks to San Quentin, as well as supporting the creation of a sample reel to send out with grant applications.
This year I'm hoping to raise funds to interview more Aunties in 2023, as well as recipients of masks in the Bay Area and Navajo Nation and continued editing the rough cut.
Some things your contribution supports:
$50 will help pay for crew snacks for one day
$100 will help pay for crew meals for one day
$200 will pay for a production assistant for one day
$350 will pay for an assistant editor for one day
$500 will pay for an editor for one day
The average amount of time it takes to complete an indie doc in the US is 5-8 years. With your help I can get it done a bit sooner than that! Thank you so much for your continued support!
