last night my near-broken laptop died. On it was 10,000 words of an autobiography, poetry, articles, about 3 chapters of a novel, a collection of unpublished short stories, a lot of photographs, archive materials and speeches. As well as personal materials

I live on disability benefits of £17000 a year which in the current economic climate is extremely tight budget

I'm trying to write my history, my stories, the untold pasts of queer, anarchist & activist communities as well as work on my poetry and fiction

i don't have the money to buy a laptop and continue my work of recording & archiving 43 years of community & politics

Id like to buy a new quality laptop that will last, a good back up system and i'd like to be able to take the hard drive to a professional to see how much of my precious heritage can be retrieved
