In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Kind and the Most Merciful.
Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raaji’oon
To Allah we belong, and unto Him is our return.
With deeply heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Sister and Dearest Auntie Safia, who passed away on Sunday 15th December 2024. May Allah swt shower his Infinite mercy and blessings upon her and grant her the highest rank in Jannatul Firdaus.
As her community and her family, our hearts truly ache with this loss. She was loved by so many and those who knew her, know her presence brought warmth and joy to the heart. She was a carer here in Nelson, selfless in her work- it was more than a job to her, she completely devoted her life to those she cared for and worked hard in supporting the vulnerable in our community.
She was the type of auntie who always greeted you with a warm smile and a hug, caring about your wellbeing always. A Kind, Caring and Loving Friend but above all- a Devoted Mum. A constant for her two girls who were her pride and joy. She was the glue that held her family together.
We have received an overwhelming amount of messages from people who want to help. Our community here in Nelson is truly one of a kind and your generosity truly is unmatched. A community that our auntie safia fit perfectly into as her generosity really did know no bounds.
She single-handedly raised two girls with no family around therefore we have set up this page to support her girls as they greive the loss of there mum through this difficult time.
Depending on how much we will raise part of this will act as a form of sadaqah Jaaria for Safia.
Each contribution will be a source of blessings for us all inshaaAllah.
Beyond donations, our most important ask is that you all make humble and sincere duas for Safia and her daughters. We ask that you read Surah Yaseen on their behalf and keep them in your duas.
As we mourn the loss of our dear sister, we pray that Allah grants her a garden from the gardens of paradise in her grave. May Allah grant her forgiveness and mercy, and may He grant patience and strength to her family during this difficult time. Aameen.
A short reminder for us all: The Messenger (SAW) said “The believer's shade on the Day of Resurrection will be his charity." Therefore, let us give generously from what Allah has blessed us with so that we may be given respite on the day of Qiyaamah through our charitable actions.
JazakAllah Khair
