Due to the unprecedented and unpredictable outbreak of COVID 19, Aurora Restaurant has been forced to suspend dine in operations completely and indefinitely.
This has resulted in the majority of our hourly and salaried employees to be laid off without notice. All the cooks, dishwashers, bartenders & servers, bus boys, chefs and managers are now fighting to make ends meet with no clear certainty as to what the future holds. There are no opportunities for other jobs in this industry at the moment, and it is unclear if and when we will all return to work at the place many of us have called home for nearly the past 17 years.
Over these years, we have come to meet and serve so many fantastic people and families in Rye and the surrounding areas. We have always extended our hospitality to the fullest extent and have grown to know this community on many levels. So many of our guest relationships have grown into meaningful friendships and extensions of our work family in the restaurant.
It's unfortunate that we all find ourselves in this dire situation, but in a desperate time, we are calling on all our friends and family, community organizers, fellow hospitality workers and anyone who is willing to support this noble cause for all our hardworking staff.
100% of the money raised will go directly towards employee relief and divided amongst the 30 members of the Aurora staff who are now jobless and desperately trying to support themselves, their spouses and children.
