Aurora's Fiberglass Mattress Fiasco

Hi, I'm Aurora. I'm a grad student at NCSU, and I bought a mattress from Amazon thinking it would be a quick and convenient solution for needing somewhere to sleep while I'm in school. Unfortunately, even though I did research different brands, the mattress I bought (the Vibe Gel Memory Foam Mattress) was shoddily assembled and, unbeknownst to me, started leaking fiberglass from all sides.
This use of fiberglass in mattresses is quite widespread, as it's a cheap way to make a mattress comply with federal regulations, but needless to say, it's not supposed to escape the cover the company puts on it. I'm trying to see what kind of compensation I can get from the manufacturer, but that's a drawn-out process and unfortunately, due to the potential health concerns from coming into contact with fiberglass shards, I have to find a way to deal with the cost of disposing of the old mattress, getting a new one, and paying to have the carpet and a good deal of my personal belongings replaced due to the fiberglass contamination.
If you've ever met me, you know how much it pains me to have to ask for help in such a public forum. But between the hours I'm putting into grad school and working as a graduate teaching assistant, I have neither the time for another job nor cash to spare for an emergency at this scale. Between the physical health issues I've been experiencing due to this mattress and the mental toll it's taken on me dealing with those and knowing how difficult it's going to be to resolve the issue, I find myself having to be open about this struggle and humbly asking for whatever help you can give to help me end the nightmare that is fiberglass contamination.
If you've made it this far, know I appreciate you, even if you can't help me right now. It means a lot knowing I'm not struggling alone.
