AUSA USA college basketball exposure tour 2024
Donation protected
Hey everyone! My name is Jackson McCabe, and I’m a young and striving basketball player from the far north coast of NSW.
I’ve been selected to be a part of AUSA Basketball exposure tour for 2024, in their high level and prestigious USA College Exposure tour. A team filled with the top prospects from all around Australia, this opportunity is extremely rare and one that can open doors towards dreams I have had since I started playing basketball at higher levels, to play at the highest level of college basketball in the USA.
I am fundraising to help go towards the costs of the tour, which includes the flights, travel, food whilst over there.
It’s been a long-standing goal and dream of mine to play college in the USA, especially at the division 1 level. I have the chance to be seen on this international platform in tournaments closely watched by numerous high level college coaches (taking place in Memphis and Wichita in May), and hopefully pick up some interest and gain a scholarship to a college/university.
I am in the process of training and hopefully playing semi-professionally for the Gold Coast Rollers NBL1 North basketball team, an opportunity presented to few people my age. This equips me to perform at a high level during my time in the states, accompanied by numerous years of playing for NSW on a national stage. I recently graduated from my high school in QLD, TSS, where our first V basketball team won the GPS, state championship and All Schools National Championship, making us the top high school team in Australia for 2023.
Academically, I have the opportunity to study internationally, and I would love to integrate my basketball into my studies and represent my institution at a high level both in the classroom and on the court, as high academics is greatly recognised by division 1 and 2 NCAA colleges. My academics are a strength, finishing my HSC with an ATAR of 90.70 with all straight A's in all my subjects on my final QCE (Queensland Certificate of Education) results.
I have deferred my degree in computer science at UQ to give this and my NBL1 season priority for 2024.
I am driven to succeed in everything I do, especially in the basketball realm, I will be doing my absolute best over in the US to get seen and open doors to a whole new world of opportunities which would make the efforts and sacrifices of my coaches, teammates and especially family worth it. I'm excited to see where this takes me, So please take the time to donate, any and all help towards this opportunity is very greatly appreciated.
Thank you very much,
Jacko.
