Aussie Anna's UK Uni Dream
Hi my name is Annalise Burton and I am a 21-year-old from a country town called Casino in Northern NSW.
I have been accepted into the prestigious Nottingham Trent University in the United Kingdom to study a Bachelor of Arts Honours in Costume Design and Making.
Anne Boleyn Tudor Costume - Major work 2015
I have been sewing since I was 12 years old. I was one of 40 students chosen of approximately 3000 students who studied textiles in their HSC to show in the TEXSTYLE exhibition that travelled throughout Australia. Since then I have completed three tertiary courses and developed a passion to work as a costume designer and maker within the film industry.
Queen of Beetles - Major work 2016
The contributions to my crowdfunding will be used to help cover my education fees. I need a total of $45,000 to be able to receive a visa to study for my first year. These funds must be in my bank account before July 2017. Part of these funds are being raised by other methods including applying for grants, sponsorships, holding local fundraising efforts, designing and making custom orders for clients as well as doing alterations for locals.
Queen of Moths - Major work 2016
I am no stranger to hard work, hardships, pressure and long hours. Growing up on a 900 acre cattle farm means I've seen my fair share of adversity. This means that I am strong willed and I can say with confidence that the blood, sweat and tears of moving away from home and applying myself whole heartedly to achieving my best maybe a dream but I also know it is a reality that will occur with your help.
Me and my horse Gumboots on the family farm.
Your contribution is an investment. An investment in me, my abilities and my future. I have always been told it takes a village to raise a child and I am fortunate enough to have seen that this is true. It is now going to take a mob of you to continue this village legacy to get me to the UK.
I do not take your investment lightly. I cannot put into words how grateful I would be for the contribution to furthering my education and I can promise you that with the knowledge of your contribution, I will strive to do my absolute best as a way of thanking you.
Character study - period costume based of the movie Belle - 2015.
Origami dress made from paper and shapewell - 2014
