Help Support Austin's Battle Against Esophagus cancer
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Jaylynn. I'm Austin Amos's fiancé.
Over the last months, Austin has been having lots of issues with eating. We had thought he maybe just needed a quick procedure to stretch his esophagus and that was it. Well, we wished anyways. His symptoms proceeded to get worse. He had lost roughly 20 pounds in two weeks, couldn't eat as much anymore, had gotten worse with liquids, and was in overall pain. Thankfully, on April 14th, we had talked him into going to the ER to be checked out. Belpre ER did a CT scan and hours later, the doctor came in and said he has a mass and a hernia. Belpre ER admitted us to Marietta Memorial Hospital. The next day, Austin had a scope and a biopsy done. On April 15th, after his scope and biopsy, the doctor came in and told us he is 95% sure the mass is cancer. The hernia was so small that it isn't a concern right now and this mass (cancer) is the biggest concern. After days of waiting for the biopsy to come back and us praying that the doctor was wrong, the results came in. He has Adenocarcinoma cancer on his esophagus. At this time, we aren't sure if it has spread anywhere or what stage. He has an appointment with Cleveland Clinic on April 29th. We know surgeries and chemo with radiation or just one or the other is ahead of us. We have a long road ahead of us.
As a one-income family, this unexpected news is going to be very hard, overwhelming, heartbreaking, and financially hard. Austin works full-time to support his family and two little kids. But, unfortunately, with cancer getting in the way, we are not sure what the journey is looking like for our family or how long he will be off of work.
We have two little kids at home who need us and financially need us. Our son, Ace, just turned three on April 12th and our daughter, Aspyn, who turns one on May 22nd.
We need all the help we can get at this moment. With all the medical bills, traveling, and basic living expenses, Austin deserves to fight for his life without the stress of finances in the way. Anything will help us. No matter how small it is, it would mean the absolute world to us. Please pray for Austin and our family during this difficult time.
Thank you all so much for all the prayers and again, anything will help us get through!
