Austin Drewry Fight For Life

This fundraiser is to support an amazing young man, Austin Drewry. He is currently fighting the most significant battle of his life at age 21. On November 21, 2022, he was involved in a horrific head-on collision with an 18-wheeler. He was airlifted from Carlsbad, New Mexico to El Paso, Texas. He is at one of the #1 trauma centers that can provide the best medical personnel and care necessary for the extensive injuries he has sustained. I know there are many wrecks in one's life, but specific impacts can cause more damage than just hurting the victim; this could lead to death if not treated correctly with the proper medical supplies.

Austin has already undergone multiple major surgeries and is possibly looking at more extensive ones. He will have to undergo comprehensive rehabilitation due to neurological damage, cardiac, respiratory, orthopedic, and many others. Austin has multiple brain injuries, a collapsed lung, a bleeding lung, lacerations to his spleen and liver, cervical fracture, t-spine fracture and spinal cord injury that has caused paralysis at this time. He also has multiple broken ribs, a broken femur to his left leg, and other minor injuries for which he is currently being treated. Austin has served in the Louisiana National Guard since he was 18 and has been on two deployments. He is presently working for H&P in New Mexico and was supposed to be coming home on 11/23/22 to spend Thanksgiving with family and friends. His family has been with him since Monday night, and are having to be away from home, family, friends and their jobs. Austin and his family are over 13 hours from home and will have to spend quite a while where he is currently. His mom will be staying to be by his side, and the hospital does not have any hospitality rooms available. All the while, his sisters and stepdad try to return back for school and work and visit as much as possible. He has such a long road ahead of him for healing, and we pray for a full recovery.
