AUSTIN MINTAS medical expenses

AUSTIN MINTAS NEEDS OUR HELP!!!

For those of you who don’t know, Austin Mintas had to have his right foot amputated due to complications from diabetes. He is recovering with his usual good humor and hardworking approach, but he needs some financial help to keep moving forward. He needs help with hospital bills. When he is done with Rehab, he’ll need to pay someone to help him with driving, cooking, and doing all the things he can’t do until his leg heals. Then he will need more Rehab to learn to use a prosthetic foot.
Anything you can contribute will be a help. All donations go directly to Austin’s bank account. Thank you in advance for coming to the aid of someone who has worked so hard.

ABOUT AUSTIN
I met Austin Mintas when he first came to Beaumont in 2014 looking to start a new life. As someone who is a veteran, he told me he wanted to make a difference in the world, and he knew he had a lot of work ahead of him to get where he wanted to be. Many people thought he couldn’t do all the things he had planned for himself, but he’s done all those things and more!

He worked 3 jobs while he went to college. While he was working on his bachelor’s degree, he had to have triple bypass surgery. Austin didn’t drop out of school like most people would have done. He finished the semester and kept on going. Before he finished, he had to deal with prostate cancer. Again, he didn’t quit. He continued to work his 3 jobs, take his cancer treatments, and continue with his classes. He graduated in May 2019 with a Bachelor of Science in Communication.

Austin completed his Master’s Degree in Education Counseling/Mental Health and is currently as a teacher at Vincent Middle School. He did an internship at Baptist Behavioral Hospital and at Unity Treatment Center where he continues to volunteer his time. He is currently Board President at Unity Church.

He has been accepted and plans to work on his Doctorate Degree beginning this summer.
