Austin Smalley Heart Failure Fund
Donation protected
Meet Austin Smalley, a vibrant and outgoing 18 year old, who loves to hike, hunt, fish, and play sports—especially baseball. As a pitcher for American Leadership Academy he was a Career Top 10 Leader (in nine separate categories) and was actively being recruited to play college baseball.
But in January of 2023 Austin was forced to miss his senior season (and ultimately conclude his baseball career) as he was diagnosed with heart failure. After months of tests and hospital/specialist visits, it it has been determined that he is not a candidate for a left ventricular assist device (LVAD) and requires a heart transplant in the near future. He has been in and out of the CICU the past few weeks trying to stabilize his restrictive cardiomyopathy. Austin and his family have a long road ahead of them… with many more hospital/specialist visits, medications, a heart transplant operation, and a prolonged recovery.
Austin’s mom, Shannon, has been a vital part of our Aspen Dermatology family for the past nine years. As friends and coworkers, we want to help lift up this special family in their time of crisis. Please join us in supporting them in any way you find meaningful… and please share Austin’s story with anyone else that may be looking to help make a difference.
All proceeds will help the Smalley family with increasing medical bills, lost wages, meals, and the new day-to-day costs associated with a heart transplant operation and recovery.
Thank you,
Aspen Dermatology
