Austin’s cremation and memorial
Donation protected
I’m starting this Go Fund Me page to help our friend Kristal who lost her hubby Austin suddenly last Tuesday (14th June). Austin was a great dad and leaves behind two young children aged 4 and 5 years.
Austin was diagnosed 5 years ago with heart failure and the medication he was on stopped working after a few years. He went into severe heart failure and got really sick which was when he was transferred to the Prince Charles hospital. The family had to relocate from Outback Queensland to live near the hospital while awaiting transplant. Austin needed to have a double Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) implanted as a bridge to heart transplant. Kristal was told that Austin would not survive the VAD surgery but he did.
My partner Troy and Austin met when they both had their VAD’s and spent a lot of time together in the gym getting strong enough to be placed on the heart transplant list. The financial stress relocating and with Austin so sick while awaiting transplant has caused huge financial strain on the family.
Last year, Austin also had an anyerism and he was rushed to surgery where his spleen ruptured and he died 3 times during the surgery. Kristal was told to say her goodbyes as he wouldn’t survive the night. Austin fought hard and not only survived the night he got stronger and was eventually listed for transplant.
The family thought all their Christmas wishes were answered when Austin received his heart on Christmas Eve and everything seemed to be going well. Austin and his family were looking forward to a brighter future together.
Austin passed away suddenly on Tuesday morning which was a shock as he appeared to be going well.
Kristal is struggling financially and emotionally to deal with the sudden loss of Austin and I would like to try and take some of that burden off her. Kristal wishes to have Austin cremated, a memorial for him and I hope that she can have some breathing space to grieve and focus on the kiddies before rushing back to work. Kristal isn’t one to ask for help and she’s always helping others.
Any help would be appreciated, thank you
