CALLING ON OUR COMMUNITY FOR AUSTYN BARBER

On Saturday, August 26th, Austyn was brutally shot and killed in his own home.

Austyn, 28 years old, grew up in the Northern Nevada area, was a vivacious and loving son, brother, and friend. Anyone who knew him would tell you that Austyn was a fun, outgoing, always loving life and all the things it had to offer. Austyn loved to ride his dirt bike as moto was life! He also loved anything outdoors (fishing was a must) and his family. His life was cut too early and has devastated those who loved him. Austyn leaves behind his dad, mom, stepmother, two sisters, a stepsister and a little niece who adored her uncle.

As you can imagine Austyn's parents Robert and Jessie Barber and Theresa his mother, were in shock and dismay when hearing the tragic news. No parent ever plans for their child's funeral and yet this event has changed all of that for them in an instant. Robert and Jessie are respected and known members of our community, extremely hardworking and family-oriented. Working in the construction industry Robert and Jessie both have made substantial contributions to the growing infrastructure here in Reno.

Robert and Jessie are currently housing and are supporting a full household and were not prepared for the financial burden this has placed on them. So today we are asking our community to come together and offer ANY assistance you are able to. No amount is too small. Our goal is to raise $10,000 toward the burial and memorial services.
