First, I want to thank you all for coming to this page. Some or most may not know me, and I want you to know that I appreciate you and for donating your time. If you take a look at the world and see its beauty, you will find an overwhelming amount of incredible souls on it. It's magical. We truly cannot be here without the support of one another.

Hello everyone! My name is Eddie Nghiem. Please allow me to take a little more of your time and share with you a bit about myself. I was born in San Francisco to two truly incredible parents who immigrated here from Vietnam due to some not so great conflicts happening. But that story can be saved for another time.

I grew up with a sense of duty and purpose and have always felt the need to help others over myself. After leaving High School, I joined the United States Marine Corps where I served 5 years active duty. There I met some of the most courageous, and selfless souls which was truly inspiring. After leaving the Marine Corps in 2014, I did some soul searching for a year. Figuring what meaningful duty I could do in this world. In 2015 I became a Peace Officer and have been so now for over 8 years. Time really flies. I have the most incredible and supporting wife, Caitlyn. She is who I look forward to waking up to every morning. I could go on and on about her...

On to the not so good... In May of 2022, I began to feel weak, I had tingling and weakness in my arms and legs. My balance, coordination, reflexes, were off, and my overall strength to do simple tasks such as opening a water bottle or walking up stairs would be highly difficult. On Christmas Day 2022, I woke up near paralyzed, unable to lift my arms and legs, extremely stiff and rigid, and my muscles were spasming when trying to move. I spent 5 days in the Hospital and was Diagnosed by Neurologists having a rare form of an Autoimmune Disease called - Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy (CIDP). Essentially my immune system is attacking my nervous system, specifically my myelin sheath on my nerves.

Over the past year, doctors have been maintaining me on a treatment called Intravenous Immunoglobulin (IVIG). The issue is this is not a cure, and to this date there is no known cure. Unfortunately over the year the medication has been having diminishing returns. These past two months have become more difficult with a prolonged flare up. All of which is negatively impacting my personal life and ability to work at full capacity.

I understand there are limitations to healthcare in the U.S. and I am sure doctors are doing their best. It's just at this point in my life I need to take matters into my own hands. I've tried all sorts of alternative medicine, including a more Whole Foods way of eating. All of these which I currently implement.

The reason I am here today is to seek help for an alternative way to potentially treat my Disease through Stem Cell Therapy. Unfortunately it is not something that is recognized as a treatment for my Autoimmune Disease, but there have been some success stories online. That being said, sadly it is not covered through insurance.

This is a difficult thing to ask of anyone, and I am aware we are all going through life with our own obstacles and stressors. Nonetheless I appreciate you for keeping with me until this point. I wish you and everyone around you the BEST LIFE full of HEALTH and HAPPINESS.

What this disease has taught me is how fragile and precious life is. Seize the moment everyday, be with your loved ones, don't take life too seriously, and focus on the positive things.

Peace and love - Eddie
