Ava Tibbs - Educational Fund

Please help Ava Tibbs, the daughter of Sonja Augustine, a dear friend who passed away unexpectedly on May 28, 2022, Ava's high school graduation day. 

Ava, a summa cum laude graduate of Providence High School's class of 2022, was admitted into Loyola's class of 2026 - in the Frank R. Seaver College of Science and Engineering. With the loss of her mother, Ava is now unable to pay her required financial contribution for the upcoming school year and, if not paid, will not be able to attend. Initial tuition/room/board payment is due no later than August 19, 2022.

Hi, my name is Kim Hershman. I am fundraising to ensure that Ava Tibbs, the daughter of Sonja Augustine, a dear friend, can attend Loyola Marymount University as a freshman this fall, and pay for her 2022-2023 school year educational expenses.

Ava was admitted into Loyola's class of 2026. However, on May 28, 2022, Ava's high school graduation day, Sonja passed away unexpectedly, leaving Ava and her brother Jordan, a graduate student at UCLA, to fend for themselves. As a single working parent, Sonja did not leave funds for her children. Instead, like so many of us, she worked to pay for expenses, including education, as they arose.

 

A bit about Ava: Ava is 17 years old. She is a summa cum laude graduate of Providence High School's class of 2022. Ava was admitted into LMU's Frank R. Seaver College of Science and Engineering and plans to major in biology, with the ultimate goal of becoming a physician.

 

Sonja devoted her life to her children. However, life is unpredictable. Upon hearing of Sonja's passing, I stepped up to provide her children with a roof over their heads. It was the best that I could do at that time. However, please now help me in helping Ava fulfill her educational dreams.
