After Ava’s mri we received the news that her tumor is growing is growing aggressively. It is now growing and blocking where the spinal fluid drains as well as other places causing her to retain fluid in her brain Ava is still fighting she is so strong she opens her eyes and looks at us she gives us these gentle slow blinks l to let us know she’s here , she loves us and showing just how strong she is . she is being kept comfortable and out of pain until she can no longer fight against this ugly tumor. We as a family are spending as much time with her as we can taking it all in .. filling her room with little laughs, stories ,dances from her younger sisters and cousins just like normal, Rena does a good job at lightening the mood and being silly (these kids are all so strong) , visits , hugs and love from family, special alone time with her parents , auntie, grandparents at night and the comfort of having her people there with her 24/7 to hold her hand and let her know she is safe!![](https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/75016143_1693193820535893_r.jpg)

Update: Ava has since been awake and alert making eye contact and showing she knows her her family and who her people are ❤️ she had been progressing and proving drs wrong , they didn’t even think she would be able to open her eyes or if she did wake she wouldn’t know who she or any of her people are but she does you can feel it when she looks at you and hears your voice her whole energy changes.. About a month ago Ava had a mri and the news was hard to hear, her tumor had come back. We were told it was not as fast and aggressive as the first one that our time is unknown to enjoy the moments we have and keep her comfortable. Ava since has been strong and in my opinion still progressing with a few set backs and infections but she continues to fight and bring herself back out of it. she had her 12th birthday on July 24th with family , sisters and cousins. We celebrated with a glow in the dark birthday she had a really good day! She had a few super good positive days since but now It seems as the last few days have been pretty rough. There will be another mri to give more details and answer more questions. Ava is so strong she is fighting so hard.
The 3 amigos had a sleep over for Avas bday!

I don’t even know how to start this.. so I’ll just start with the details. Ava Was rushed to the ER (Seattle children’s) on February 19th in the late evening , she was not responding to her Mother (Tracy). She had been sick with what they thought was a common cold. Turns out she had a tumor that had been growing on the front parts of her brain. Scans had shown the tumor which included a lot of bleeding and signs of a stoke. Ava then was transferred to Harborview ER in Seattle where they had immediate surgery because her brain had swelled and they had to relieve the pressure. After the test came back They later went into emergency surgery again the best children’s surgeon had been rushed to Harborview to perform the surgery to remove the tumor. They had gotten what that could out but there was a lot of bleeding. During her stay at harborview Ava suffered 2 set backs and more brain bleeding in return caused more brain damage. She is so strong and such a fighter. When Ava became stable enough she was transferred to Seattle children’s again, where she had yet again another brain bleed and more damage to her brain. The results came back it turns out she has a very rare cancerous tumor. That is strong and quick called PNET Primative Neuroectodermal Tumor. It came within a month and took over. It’s rare and aggressive. There Drs said even if it was caught before the big brain bleed that the out come would be the same and even if they thought they got it all out 99% chance they didn’t and it would come back even stronger and faster. Ava has been in a coma since the 19th but is stable. The outcome is devastating and heart breaking it’s hard to even mention. The drs says the Ava we know and love won’t be there if she ever wakes.. and asking family to make a unimaginable decision. We feel her fighting to wake !
