Update (1/29/24).
Thank you for your generous support. Our fundraising goal was surpassed.
We understand that the majority of the funeral costs are going to be covered. Because of this, we will close the fundraiser.
There are now plans to open a trust fund for Avalon's little sister (Rainha) who was also injured in the accident, to access when she is older. The majority of the funds raised will go in that trust.
The rest of the funds will assist Michael and Rainha Jamieson in various ways. We want to ensure they have the resources they need to focus on healing.
Thank you for your kindness and generosity.

With Sasha and Michael's permission, alongside their broken hearts, we are devastated to share that sweet little Avalon did not survive after the tragic accident on Colborne Street in Orillia on January 20, 2024. She was only one day shy of her 6th birthday (January 21) and anxiously awaiting her presents and rainbow cake she had asked for.
Her little sister, Rainha, has suffered a broken wrist, but nothing compared to their shattered hearts.
As a community, our hearts go out to her parents, who now have to cope with such a tremendous loss. We are all aware funerals and unexpected costs are a burden, but adding in the fact of it being a child...is devastating. Nobody should have to bury a child.
To show the community is here to help support Avalon's family in their grief, we've set the fundraising goal to match the population of Orillia, 34,000.
If you're able to make a donation of any amount, please donate through the GoFundMe link. Funds will be used to pay for funeral expenses, bereavement support, and anything that will help lessen the tragic burden this family is facing.
Thank you for your support.
A candlelight vigil is being planned for January 22 at 5:00 pm., follow Nosey Neighbours on Facebook for further details.
Our sincerest condolences to all who loved Avalon.
Note: I do not personally know this family, and the money will be managed by a community member connected to them to ensure their needs are met at this time. Remaining funds will likely be put in a trust and given to Rainha when she is older at the discretion of the family.
