My Grandpas Funeral Services

My Grandfather was blessed to live up to 91 years old. He was an amazing person, Dad and Grandfather. He served in the Navy, highest ranked as a Coxswain (the steersman of the ships boat) during World War 2. He served on US ALGOL and worked as a trucker for 30 years. He was always positive and always had a smile on his face. No matter what struggle he was faced with, he would always figure a way to overcome it. He was the strongest person I knew. So many hospital visits, whether he would break a bone or just wasn’t at his best, he would always come up on top and leave even better regardless what doctors would say “he wouldn’t get better.” With the support of God & myself we would prove people wrong overcoming another obstacle in his life. He meant the world to me. If I was ever down or faced with any type of struggle he would try his best to help me no matter what. He was helpful, caring, and loving to everyone he met. I always loved how everyone would compliment me about him. I am so thankful for him for making me the man who I am today. The only male figure in my life I have looked up to and has been there for me till the end. If I ever needed someone to count on I know I could always count on my grandfather. I have learned so much from him. I hope I continue to grow into the man with the same qualities he had. He loved his daughter and two grandchildren with all his heart. Family meant so much to him.
He was in a rehab facility for a year to get better after a hit and run accident, but the place made him only worse. I would visit him everyday after work and every Sunday to make sure he didn’t ever feel alone. I was the only family who lived in Los Angeles he had. I wasn’t ready for this emotionally or financially. His last wishes were to be buried near me so I could visit him. I started payments last year, but I am no where near paying it off. Now that the day is here I have to pay everything upfront by April 12th. Donations will go toward the funeral services and plot burial at Pierce Brothers Valhalla Memorial Park.I know I can’t go visit him everyday after work now, but I would appreciate the help to continue to visit him every Sunday where he is laid to rest (April 14th) .Any amount is truly appreciated. No donation is too small.Thank you in advance for any donations.
