Aven Elsberg Rehab, Care, and Equipment US
Donation protected
Aven Elsberg is an 18 year old talented Canadian/American mountain biker, freeride skier, and all around great kid who unfortunately suffered a severe spinal cord injury at the C5 level on August 3rd riding his home trails in Whistler, BC. He is facing a long recovery and inpatient then outpatient rehab process and significant equipment and caregiver needs as he eventually transitions from the inpatient to outpatient setting. The spinal cord unit at Vancouver General Hospital has encouraged us to fundraise for Aven’s needs and future independence despite our family’s relatively fortunate financial situation. We appreciate any support for his future needs but if you are uncomfortable with that please consider donating to Whistler SAR (who extricated Aven along with Whistler Bike Park Patrol), spinal cord injury research, or your local adaptive program. This is the fundraising site for US funds. We have set up a separate site for Canadian funds.
We have set up a Caring Bridge site to keep our friends, family and others supporting Aven updated on his recovery. Please do not donate on the Caring Bridge site, those donations do not benefit Aven.
