Avery's Garden Treehouse Retreat
My name is Tara and on June 17, 2016 we lost our first baby, Avery Robert due to complications with my pregnancy. I was 20 weeks and 4 days pregnant. Anyone who has ever lost a child knows that what follows after the loss of a baby is a hard, grief stricken road. Through the course of my journey thus far, I have met incredibly brave families who are battling with the acceptance of life after loss. I created a personal garden in June of 2016, appropriately calling it Avery's Garden. I then began networking on social media under that name as well to meet more people I could reach and help along the way. Helping others has been healing on my heart as I join arms with other bereaved mothers and fathers and others dealing with grief. This holiday season I decided to give back to these families by creating special ornaments for their angels to hang on a reclaimed wooden Christmas tree. Seeing all these angels together made me feel the sense of belonging and community and the strong need to do even more. This is where the seeds of Avery's Garden Treehouse Retreat were formed. I am looking for donations to help fund a project my husband and I would like to start, that would give a place for parents or families to go when they need to reconnect after loss. I am calling it a "healing treehouse retreat" in a sense. I want to give back to families hurting that need somewhere to go to be with nature, serenity and peace.
Your donations would help with the purchasing or land and materials to make our dream come true. We need to start somewhere and while I understand my goals are high, I intend to make something truly beautiful in the end. Your donations will continue to accumulate towards the treehouse and giving back to families that need extra support through the difficulties of grief.
Thank you for reading my story and for your consideration in my cause. Please help me create a space to rejoice in life and loss and a place to honor a life no matter how brief it may have been.
