Avery's Gender Affirmation Surgery Fund!!

Hi y'all. My name is Avery. I'm a transgender woman and I am on my way to a few wonderful gender confirming surgeries. But I need help, and here's the situation...

As of writing this, there are basically 3 surgeries planned:

-I currently have a surgery date scheduled for breast augmentation in Sept 2021 -** COMPLETED! And healing wonderfully!

-I'm in the insurance approval/dance-of-limbo phase for facial feminization surgery.

-And I am currently taking the necessary pre-scheduling steps for bottom surgery as well, and hope to get that on the books by the end of the year or asap. -** Bottom surgery is currently scheduled for January 2022!!!

I do currently have some ok insurance that is going to cover the majority of the costs, and luckily there are great surgeons in my covered network, but there are many more expenses that insurance doesn't cover that I just can't afford. The time off work for recovery after each surgery will be significant, as well as covering the costs of bills and living expenses. Prior to the pandemic, I did have a good paying job in the concert touring industry and was saving up to eventually be able to take care of it all myself, but my career was not pandemic proof and I had to live off and deplete all of my savings, including the little bit of a retirement fund I had started. Now, as life gets going again, I find myself in a wonderful, but very low paying retail job and just can't afford to cover all of this. The concert touring industry is coming back, but my needing these surgeries with extended recovery times is the exact thing keeping me from being able to return to that rather physically demanding job/gig-lifestyle. I had to make the choice to step away from touring until I can get through all of this and recover. 

Any funds received will be used ONLY for:

- Surgery/medical costs not covered by insurance (up to my out-of-pocket max, etc)

- Electrolysis costs for bottom surgery (not covered by insurance)

- Bills during recovery

- Food during recovery

- Other general living expenses during recovery

- Any costs/expenses for additional assistance during recovery

None of these funds will be used for anything that is not considered necessary for recovery and survival - no shopping, entertainment, fancy dinners out, etc. I may need to purchase a couple new bras, but those will only be if needed and nothing extravagant!

Also, VERY IMPORTANT TO KNOW : of all the funds generated here, any and all left over funds that are not used or needed will be donated to the Trevor Project and to the National Center for Transgender Equality. A portion will also be saved and used to "Pay it Forward" to other trans related fund raising events like mine for trans related health care, emergencies, legal needs, or other needs. Absolutely zero dollars will be kept for my own personal use beyond my recovery needs. I intentionally set my fundraising goal a bit higher than what I think I'll need specifically in hopes to be able to donate and pay forward some of the funds.

It's difficult for me to even ask this as I'm very much a do-it-alone and figure-it-out type of person, so thank you from the bottom of my heart for your time and consideration as I humbly ask for your support.
