Aviles Family Support

On May 5th 2023 Jose Guadalupe Aviles (Lupe) was rushed to the ER of St Jude’s Hospital to treat what was first believed to be a complication related to sleep apnea. Shortly after being admitted his family learned that it was something much worst.
While under the care of doctors, Lupe’s family learned that he had a critical obstruction in his lung, preventing him from breathing on his own, and it led doctors to place Lupe in the ICU where he was intubated. Currently, Lupe is relying on the ventilator to breathe.
Upon further assessment of Lupe’s health, a rather large mass was found in his neck and the Aviles family was hit with the words no loved one ever wants to hear “It might be Cancer.” Lupe has now been in the hospital for a week with no improvement, and no clear course of treatment for the mass as doctors fight to get him to breathe on his own once again.
If this was not enough, the family’s car was stolen from in front of their home, while Elvia, Lupe’s wife, was caring for him.
Lupe and Elvia have been married for 25 years, and Elvia has been tirelessly by Lupe's hospital bed. We ask that you help us support this family in their hour of need. No donation is too small. The fund will help support Elvia and her family while she takes a leave of absence from work to continue to be by her husband’s side. Funds will be used at the family’s discretion to pay rent, bills, food and medical expenses.
Lupe is a man of great faith, a devoted husband and father that has worked tirelessly to provide for his family with the best life. I know Lupe would be most grateful for your prayers for his recovery.
Elvia is a caring, loving, charming person. She has dedicated 18 + years of her life to the non-profit sector where she has given everything of herself to care for youth, and to be of service to others. She has impacted countless lives. She has truly lived in service of others, she is now in need of us.
Pam, their amazing daughter is a kind, loving, caring young woman that many of us at Elvia’s work have seen grow up, we love her as if she was our own child and our heart goes out to her as her father battles this illness during a time she was meant to be celebrating her bridal year.
Please, let us rally around Lupe, Pam and Elvia with our love, prayers and financial support.
