For Zoe

In 2017, our brother and friend Dave left our organization in search of a more rural life to raise his family. Shortly after Dave, his wife Christine, son Eli, and daughter Zoe (5 years) moved their family to Eastern, Ontario, and bought an old farmhouse.

 

Everyone was adjusting to their new, simpler way of life. In August 2021, Zoe came down with an earache, as most kids do in the summer. After repeated medical appointments and different prescriptions failed to solve to problem, Zoe was sent for an CT Scan. Two months later, Zoe was diagnosed with Stage 4 Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma, a high-risk, inoperable cancer. Doctors have detected small nodules in her lungs and lymph nodes, stemming from a cancerous tumour that originated in her middle ear. As a result of the tumour, Zoe has developed partial facial paralysis, on her left side.

 

Zoe has been given a 40% chance of survival.

 

On November 23rd, 2021, Zoe started chemotherapy and radiation treatment away from their hometown. Both treatment options will result in several hours of driving away from home, and overnights away while she gets treatment.

 

Both of Dave’s and Christine’s extended family are in the GTA .

 

Needless to say, the financial burden associated with trips away, will quickly add up. This includes gas, meals, accommodations, parking, among other things. Dave and Christine need our help so they can focus on Zoe as she battles this horrible disease.

 

Money raised from this Go Fund Me will go directly to helping Dave and Christine, as they seek whatever treatments they can to help their precious Zoe.
